A brutal expansion to the horror roguelite created by Hidetaka “SWERY65” Suehiro × Goichi “Suda51” Suda

Today, we officially announce Hotel Barcelona: Late Check-Out DLC.

This downloadable content expands the world of Hotel Barcelona with two new story stages, new enemy types, and new boss encounters, introducing a significant extension of gameplay and narrative beyond the base experience.

This is not a side story.

It is a continuation of the descent.

Where Under New Management edition of Hotel Barcelona refined and realized the original vision, Late Check-Out pushes beyond it, introducing new environments, new pressures, and new threats designed to challenge players who thought they understood the hotel.

Players will step beyond the familiar structure of Hotel Barcelona and into environments that distort scale, pacing, and combat flow in new ways. Open spaces become hunting grounds. Confined interiors become suffocating traps.

The rules remain.The pressure increases.

New Features in Late Check-Out DLC

New Story Stages

Dusk Valley Golf Resort - A wide, exposed environment where visibility offers no safety. Long sightlines, minimal cover, and relentless enemy pressure force constant movement and spatial awareness.

• The Former Grandall Estate - A decaying mansion of tight corridors and oppressive interiors. Every encounter is close, every decision immediate, and every mistake costly.

New Boss Encounters

• 2 new bosses designed to test player mastery across positioning, timing, and stamina control• Encounters emphasize adaptation to new environmental conditions introduced in each stage

New Enemy Types

• 17 new enemy types introduced across both stages• Expanded behavioural patterns and attack logic designed to disrupt established combat rhythm• Increased demand on player reaction, spacing, and resource management

Expanded Story Content

• New narrative sequences and cutscenes• Deeper insight into the forces shaping Hotel Barcelona and its surrounding world• Continuation of thematic elements around identity, control, and psychological fragmentation

Design Intent

Late Check-Out is built as an escalation layer on top of the refined base game experience.

It assumes familiarity.

It removes comfort.

The DLC introduces contrasting spatial design philosophies — open versus confined — to challenge player instincts developed in the main game. Combat encounters are structured to feel less predictable, more reactive, and more punishing when approached passively.

This expansion reinforces the core identity of Hotel Barcelona:

Violent. Strange. Stylish. Mechanically unconventional.

Key Points:

• This is a direct continuation of the Hotel Barcelona experience, not optional side content

• Two new stages significantly expand gameplay scope and environmental variety

• New enemies and bosses introduce fresh combat challenges and behaviours

• Designed as an escalation for players who have mastered the base game

About Hotel Barcelona "Under New Management"

Hotel Barcelona is a 2.5D action horror roguelite inspired by slasher cinema, serial killer mythology, and the surreal logic of dreams.

Players control U.S. Marshal Justine Bernstein, whose mind is inhabited by the spirit of a serial killer known as Dr. Carnival. With his power, she must fight through ever-shifting hotel floors dominated by deadly traps and monstrous killers.

Players’ failed runs return as armed “Slasher Phantoms” — empowered echoes that fight alongside the player in subsequent runs.

The game combines tense melee combat, looping roguelite progression, and a unique Invasion multiplayer mode where other players can suddenly enter your game as hostile Doppelgängers.
