Step into the final nights of the millennium.

Night Shift: 1999 is a narrative-driven visual novel set in the neon-lit streets of Sydney’s Kings Cross, where the line between survival and self-control is razor thin. You play as Isra, a centuries-old vampire trying to navigate modern life—holding down a job, forming relationships, and resisting the hunger that defines you.

This is not a story about power. It’s a story about restraint.

Rendered in a striking 1-bit visual style, Night Shift: 1999 delivers a deeply personal, choice-driven experience where every decision shapes who you become—and what you’re willing to sacrifice to remain human.

Night Shift: 1999 is the work of solo developer Georgina Owassapian, whose approach blends interactive storytelling with contemporary art sensibilities. Developed with support from Screen Australia’s Emerging Gamemakers Fund, the project reflects a perspective that treats games as both narrative and artistic expression.

Working as an independent creator, Owassapian brings a singular voice to the project—combining themes of identity, migration, and belonging with a stripped-back visual style that places focus firmly on character and choice.
